Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Let's cut to the chase - the doctor says I don't qualify for the LapBand surgery because I have too much weight to lose, that if anything, I'd have to go for the gastric bypass or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. This makes me nervous, but at the same time, it can't hurt to take the referral and talk to the surgeon, right? Talking to the surgeon, asking questions, and gathering information doesn't lock me into anything. I'm not signing a contract by just sitting down and talking to someone.

Let's talk herbal stuff before you sign the contratct. :D
Get the information on the gastric bypass and call me. There's come things you could try just to see and it won't interfere or interact with any of your medications you are on.

And I'll say it again and again. YOU are beautiful. Every part of you. You always were. And you still are.

yeah... I know... same here...

but the cut and staple scares the hell out of me... too much can go wrong.

I love you babe... keep me informed.

Obviously, Ruthie, this is about your health; it's not for any sort of vain concern for physical beauty. That's not you.

I just can't say I think gastric bypass surgery beyond the LapBand is a bad idea. I think I'm pretty healthy, even though I'm a big guy. I eat well. I exercise. I'm not a smoker, a fried foods fellow, a drug-user, any of that.

I think you can be healthy AND not be a size 6.

Just my two cents, but whatever your decision is, I support you!

My sentence got away from me before I could edit it: I meant to say that I just can't say the surgery is a GOOD idea. Jeez.

Just Me - Thanks, but this is a decision I have to make and a journey I have to embark on on my own.

Teresa Paulina - I'm with you, sister. Although they can do the bypass laparoscopically, the staples and actual physical alterations of the organs don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. But I at least want to get the information and ask some questions.

Mou - After our conversation yesterday I wondered what you were talking about!

Thanks to all of you for you love and support! You are the reason I blog!!

Here I am, late as usual...

That's crummy about not being a candidate for the lapband. That really looked like the ideal way to go.

Of the options that are available, it does look like the one you linked to is least evil of them. I'm glad that you're exploring them and giving them careful thought before committing to anything.

Whatever you decide to do, you've got folks that care about you and love you bunches, and we're here for you.
